Aircraft Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular California Beach

A helicopter soaring above a popular coastal shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers watched.

Footage shared on social media depict the chopper commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a staircase near the coastal road.

Emergency Response Details

Local firefighters said five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the road were injured. Details on their wounds were not yet released.

The cause of the crash was not immediately released.

Authorities said the chopper was connected to an annual “Cars with Copters” fundraising event set for the next day.
